由於《刺客教條：黑旗 同步重置》的主播搶先遊玩引發的宣發問題，育碧官方發布中文致歉。同時在致歉文下，育碧宣布為所有購買《刺客教條：黑旗 同步重置》的玩家免費發放「深紅風暴船帆」裝飾與1500「Animus密鑰」，可以兌換專屬道具。同時由於補償限時領取，玩家需要及時兌換。然而這個致歉文下看似補償的獎勵，其實是《刺客教條：黑旗 同步重置》銷量突破200萬的獎勵。
在官方公告中，育碧《刺客教條：黑旗 同步重置》製作人Justin Ng也進行了回應。育碧承認，在遊戲正式發售前給了一部分創作者提前體驗的資格，本意是想讓大家提前看到在做的遊戲是什麼樣子。但是這次工作室確實沒把握好尺度。提前開玩、提前直播的人太多了，結果讓無數花了真金白銀支持遊戲的玩家只能焦急等待，還得滿世界躲劇透。團隊不該讓最早支持遊戲、投入最多真心的玩家們，覺得自己被排在了後面。對此育碧也深表歉意。
然後在公告末尾，育碧表示為玩家準備了一份限時小禮物。然而這份看上去是在道歉公告裡附帶的「補償」，實際上是《刺客教條：黑旗 同步重置》的200萬份銷量里程碑。然而公告中卻沒有提及，這未嘗不會讓玩家有一種「借花獻佛」的感覺。
