近日,業內曝出Xbox第一方新作《午夜之南》成本與銷量數據,這款耗資1億美元打造的遊戲市場表現慘澹,僅有50萬套銷量,離譜的投入產出比引發全網玩家熱議。

不少業內博主與玩家將該作與多款熱門遊戲展開橫向對比。遊戲博主Grummz表示,《午夜之南》1億美元的開發成本,足足相當於10款《光與影:33號遠征隊》的製作費用。另有博主Rino補充,卡普空《惡靈古堡9:安魂曲》開發預算僅6000萬至8000萬美元,低於本作;小島秀夫的《死亡擱淺》開發成本也同為1億美元。
XBOX spent $100 Million on South of Midnight. They could have funded 10 Expedition 33's instead. The strategy is clear and it' not about game budgets getting bigger, its about being leaner and more focused on gaming and what gamers want.

網友還將其與《黑神話:悟空》對比:《黑神話》曾遭遇惡意勒索,對方索要1100萬美元服務費,約占其總預算五分之一,官方直接拒絕。由此可知,《黑神話》總預算僅為《午夜之南》的一半,但其全球銷量早已突破3000萬套,銷量成績全方位碾壓前者。

糟糕的市場表現也迎來最終結局,據最新消息,《午夜之南》開發商Compulsion Studios,即將被Xbox關停或對外出售,高額成本徹底釀成重大項目翻車事故。
