12月22日，據推特用戶@lavendiaa等眾多《動物方城市2》粉絲消息稱，《動物方城市》的導演傑拉德確認電影的第三部的首張草稿已經完成，但除此以外他不會再放出更多消息了。
傑拉德表示，就像他們將《動物方城市2》宣傳中的「2」設計成蛇的創意一樣，現在《動物方城市3》也有了一張這樣的草圖。最後他表示「我們不能向你們透露太多秘密。」

It’s important to remember that like he said, it’s a little sketch & most likely the logo again. While it’s good progress, it’s important that Jared, Byron and everyone else involved have the time to fully flesh out & discover their vision. We shouldn’t expect anything too soon.
