今年2月，《赤血沙漠》開發商Pearl Abyss CEO Heo Jin-young在接受韓媒採訪時曾表示，會根據市場需求為遊戲添加更多內容，比如DLC或多人遊戲內容。

此外，當時這名CEO還談到了開發周期延長的原因。CEO Heo表示：「由於我們同時開發了自主研發的『黑空間引擎』，開發時間和成本都增加了，但目前『黑空間引擎』的開發工作已經完成。結合我們從《赤血沙漠》主機遊戲開發中積累的經驗，我相信我們可以大幅縮短未來項目的開發周期和發售間隔。」
對此，國外玩家表示不要多人模式，但可以加入合作模式，但非要二選一的話，更想要一個紮實的單人遊戲DLC。
Not multiplayer, but co op would be great. Although, if I had to choose one, I’d prefer a solid single player DLC
If they want to expand on Crimson Desert, they should make it that you can board a ship and go to a different continent that is also huge and has a tonne of stuff to do but has a different theme and story. Perhaps an Asian continent in a full expansion like an MMO of old.
