Kiwi Talkz 透露:「《戰慄時空3》已經多次進入開發階段。問題在於Valve採用的是扁平化組織結構,往往需要有人主動召集團隊、推動項目。」「而多次發生的情況是,他們開發到某個階段後撞上了一堵牆,開發者們失去了興趣,然後各自去做自己的事情,項目也就被放棄了。幾年之後,項目又會重新啟動,然後同樣的循環再次上演。」
Half-Life 3 has been in development multiple times, the problem is Valve has a flat structure so what happens is one person has to rally up other people to get behind it. What has happened on multiple occasions is they hit a brick wall, devs lose interest and go off and do their own thing and the project gets abandoned then years later the project starts up again and the cycle repeats.
如果Valve內部真的長期處於「啟動—遇阻—失去興趣—放棄—再啟動」的循環中,那麼這款作品遲遲未能面世,或許是因為其標準過高難以企及,還是因為Valve已逐漸失去了完成它的動力與決心。
