10月2日消息，據報道，索尼悄然發布了新款PS5 Slim，拆機顯示該版本搭載全新EDM-051主機板，涉及六項關鍵硬體改動。
維修師@Modyficator89在拆解《金鋼狼》限量版PS5 Slim後發現了這塊新主機板，主要改動包括：
- 主機板布局重新設計
- CMOS電池改為可更換的CR2032紐扣電池
- 內部布局簡化重構
- 冷卻系統改用PS5 Pro風格液金導熱方案
- 散熱片構造和材質與早期Slim版本明顯不同
HDMI retimer晶片換用成本更低的新方案。
Compared with the 2025 Slim revision, which had already received the improved cooling system, Sony has changed things again. The area around the APU / die and its protective surface looks different, and the liquid-metal containment appears to be closer to the approach used in the PS5 Pro. The new protection seems to expose less area directly to the liquid metal and should help keep it better controlled around the processor. 其中液金散熱的改進最受關注，PS5的液金導熱方案多年來導致大量主機故障，液金遷移和腐蝕問題一直是老款機型的隱患。
新版主機板在APU和晶片保護面區域採用了不同設計，整體方案更接近PS5 Pro的做法，液金直接接觸面積減少，控制更精準。
CMOS電池可更換是另一項重要改動，PlayStation主機的CMOS電池長期是玩家擔憂的問題，電池耗盡會導致系統時間異常甚至無法正常使用，新版改用標準CR2032紐扣電池，用戶可自行更換。
