和新的《沉默之丘》遊戲一樣，《潛龍諜影3：重製版》早已是業界眾所周知的秘密。該作的傳聞已經有好多年了，多個舅舅黨和內部人士都表示聽到《潛龍諜影3》正在重製，負責的工作室就是維塔士。
隨後推主Zonex表示Donna Burke正在為《潛龍諜影3：重製版》創作新版本的「食蛇者」主題曲。她發布的圖片中，有一張可以看到是《潛龍諜影3》食蛇者主題曲的歌詞。
