但最近 Gearbox Software 首席執行官 Randy Pitchford 在回應遊戲售價是否會上漲的問題時，表示如果是"真粉絲"就會買下《邊緣禁地4》的說法引起了爭議，許多網友都不買賬。
甚至有網友將 Randy Pitchford 的回應交給 AI 改寫成《邊緣禁地》中 CEO Handsome Jack 風格的回應大加嘲諷，也引來了 Randy Pitchford 親自回應，表示一定"物超所值"。

沒想到，Randy Pitchford 也被引出來回應，表示這一連串風波並非他的本意，也非常謙卑地對待大家對 Gearbox 開發團隊的愛與支持，正在全力以赴準備把《邊緣禁地4》交到玩家們手中，並充滿自信地表示："這是有史以來最棒的《邊緣禁地》，而且肯定物超所值！"
