在社交媒體上，有玩家問到，考慮到《惡靈古堡8》DLC中蘿絲（Rose）太重要，為什麼在9代遊戲中卻提都不提？
對於這個問題，舅舅Dusk Golem回答說：「《惡靈古堡8》DLC——蘿絲之影發生在《惡靈古堡9：安魂曲》時間線11年之後，假設《惡靈古堡9》發生在2026年，而蘿絲之影DLC發生在2037年。因此在《惡靈古堡9》的時間線里，蘿絲只有五歲。」

Dusk Golem還說《惡靈古堡9》真正的主角就是里昂（確實在預告片裡），而在正式的遊戲中玩家扮演里昂的次數要遠遠多于格蕾絲。
I'll say this now before my trailer breakdown: Leon is the main character of RE9 Requiem. You won't fully see him for a bit (though he is in the trailer), but in the final game you play far more as Leon than Grace. Become more obvious as marketing continues, into the final game.
