I think everyone knows this is expensive but i don't think most people understand just how expensive it is A perpetuity license price ranges from $50K to $500K PER SONG, which puts the 26 songs alone at an estimated total of $1.3 million to $13 million. Nearly all the songs in the game are popular hits from the 80s-90s so it's safe to assume they are on the mid-higher end for pricing Mind you that Hollow Knight was made on a total budget of 100,000$-500,000$, that's enough money to buy the perpetuity license for one or two songs in Mixtape If i see ONE person call this shit ''Indie'' imma slap the fuck outta them
What’s the new trend of games pretending to be indie just to win more awards recently
They want people to believe its an indie game.... All whille the publisher of that studio is owned by a literall Billionaire.. Imagine if an indie game was published by something owned by Ellon Musk.. The left wouldnt shut up about it. Like always.
When did they ever use the term money for indie games? Indie originally was games made by independent developers or small teams without major publisher, creative control, or big-studio
There are other reasons to debate if it qualifies as indie or not, nothing to do with how much the developer spent. Indies definition is "not receiving technical or financial support from a large publisher"
