在2025年TGA頒獎禮上,拉瑞安工作室公布了其最新項目《神諭》系列新作,引發玩家廣泛期待。然而不久後,工作室首席執行官Swen Vincke在接受彭博社採訪時透露,該作將採用生成式AI技術輔助開發,隨即在玩家與前員工間引發激烈爭議。

Swen在採訪中表示,新作將延續回合制RPG玩法,並自信稱其將「遠比《柏德之門3》更優秀」。但他也坦言,儘管公司內部對AI使用曾有分歧,目前團隊已基本接受當前的應用方式。
此言一出,迅速在社交媒體與行業論壇上激起反對聲浪,不少前員工與玩家對拉瑞安採用AI技術表示失望與擔憂。

為平息爭議,Swen通過IGN發表正式聲明強調:拉瑞安不會用AI替代任何開發人員,也不會發布包含AI生成內容的遊戲。他在聲明中指出:
「我們持續擴充概念藝術家、編劇與敘事設計師團隊,積極組建編劇室、推進演員選角與配音工作,並招聘更多翻譯人員。僅概念藝術團隊已有23人,且仍在擴招。這些藝術家日復一日為創意與生產環節貢獻原創設計。我們的一切努力都是增量式的,旨在讓人們擁有更多創作時間。」
Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI. We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do. I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists. We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison. 「任何機器學習工具若運用得當,都應成為創意團隊或個人工作流程的補充,而非對其技能與工藝的取代。我們正研究如何將前沿機器學習工具應用於創意工作,探索其如何減輕日常負擔,從而幫助我們打造更好的遊戲。我們既不會推出含AI組件的遊戲,也無計劃通過AI縮減團隊規模。儘管這一議題情緒色彩濃厚,我們始終圍繞『讓每個人的工作日變得更好,而非更糟』這一原則進行內部討論。」
Swen同時也在社交以更輕鬆的語氣回應了相關批評。

值得一提的是,此前曾被曝在最終遊戲中使用AI生成素材的《光與影:33號遠征隊》開發商Sandfall Interactive,仍在TGA上斬獲年度遊戲等多項大獎,並於頒獎後新增20萬份銷量。
