《魔獸世界：永恆》最近捲入一波因角色名違規而導致的封號爭議，資深製作人Tom Ellis甚至被玩家人肉和威脅，不得不註銷了X賬號。
刪檔測試封號，無限服算開創歷史。在此之前，Tom Ellis曾在社媒發帖，強調命名不端會被懲罰，呼籲大家「做個好人」。然而，這番言論並未得到玩家的積極反響，許多玩家不僅出言威脅 Ellis，還試圖挖掘其過往言論，試圖以此抹黑這位高級製作人。
據悉，僅有極少數(遠低於總賬號數的1%)玩家因嚴重違反角色命名相關的服務條款而被取消測試資格，而其他違規玩家僅被強制要求更改名稱。

這次事件是否會影響暴雪與玩家群的溝通尚待觀察，但可以肯定的是，這絕不會是最後一次針對違規名稱的封號行動。
