然而，7月初微軟宣布大規模裁員，涉及9000名員工，Turn 10工作室也受到嚴重影響。據內部消息，該工作室超過70名員工被裁，占團隊絕大多數，僅保留少數人員維持遊戲基本運營。

更令人擔憂的是，前Turn 10員工Fred Russell透露，核心開發團隊已被解散，剩餘人員僅協助Playground Games推進《極限競速：地平線》系列開發，主系列的未來發展陷入停滯。這一變動使得該系列長期支持計劃成疑，玩家社群對IP前景普遍持悲觀態度。
