日前，一位自稱是《質量效應5》QA測試人員的用戶在reddit發帖，稱EA正在推遲遊戲中的一些政治正確內容。
這些內容將被推遲到未來的更新補丁中，EA希望儘可能「乾淨」地讓遊戲發售，並通過補丁悄悄加入「覺醒」元素。
博主TArchcast轉發了這則帖子，並表示自己也在其它渠道聽到過類似的消息。各大公司想擺脫「覺醒文化」（woke），但同樣擔心因此會遭到「覺醒群體」的攻擊，因此會嘗試採取一種折中的方式。

對此，前《魔獸世界》團隊負責人Grummz表示：「當管理層說現在把這個刪掉時，他們實際上並不打算以後再添加這些內容。他們這麼說只是為了防止激進的員工鬧事。」
