What's happening with Techland hurts. They used to be one of my favourite studios, but ever since Tencent became the majority owner, and especially since Tymon Smektała left, it feels like the studio has completely lost its direction. Dying Light 2 keeps losing the things that made it special while gaining more live service features. They've removed the prologue. They've watered down mechanics that gave the game its own identity. They keep making unnecessary changes nobody asked for. They've even started advertising pay to win MTX on the game's LOADING SCREENS. I've always hated Ubisoft's obsession with pushing MTX through the Animus Hub and in game pop-ups, but seeing Techland advertise MTX on loading screens feels like an entirely new low. To make matters worse, updates regularly introduce new bugs that break existing features. They seem more focused on selling bundles than delivering substantial content. It's genuinely depressing watching a studio I love throw away years of goodwill. I just hope they leave Dying Light 1 alone.

True, I guess it's more obvious out there with tencent. Regardless both techland's directon + tencent's involvement is tragic.
