根據市場消息，蘋果新晶片組將比M4更強大，而蘋果稱M4是所有晶片組中速度最快的神經引擎。
蘋果最新11英寸和13英寸iPad Pro搭載M4晶片，蘋果稱這是歷來最快的神經網路引擎，可支持最快達每秒38兆次運算，比如今任何AI PC的神經處理單元都還要快速。根據網友 @MappleGold在X平台的說法，蘋果計劃使A18更上一層樓。
@MappleGold指出，A18神經引擎太強大，甚至比M4中的還強大，但是像A15仿生這樣強大但非常高效的品牌晶片不在A18中，可能會在A19或A20，具體取決於台積電2納米準備就緒。

外媒WCCFtech報道稱，A18和A18 Pro將采台積電N3E製程。此外，蘋果可能在A18營銷方式上採取不同的方向，可能不會採用「功能強大」和「非常高效」這種說法。但過去有消息傳出，A18和A18 Pro可能採用更大的晶片尺寸，以適應更大的神經引擎。
