8月20日，CD Projekt Red社區負責人Fabian Mario Döhla在X上透露，他當日到訪華沙CDPR總部，內部觀摩了將於科隆遊戲展亮相的《巫師3：狂獵》新資料片《往昔之歌》演示。他表示，再度看到傑洛特回歸「令人無比激動」，開發團隊在展示新內容與避免重大劇透之間做了精心平衡。

據CDPR公布的安排，該演示將於科隆遊戲展期間在8.1號館展出，8月26日（下周三）起觀眾可前往體驗，未能到場者也可通過官方REDstreams線上觀看。該資料片由CDPR與Fool's Theory聯合開發，後者成員多參與過《巫師3》本體的製作。
《往昔之歌》於今年5月27日首次公開，是《巫師3：狂獵》的第三部、也是全新章節式資料片，玩家將再次扮演獵魔人傑洛特展開一段全新冒險。CDPR稱其規模對標《血與酒》，並定位為傑洛特故事的最終章，同時作為《巫師4》的銜接之作。
目前官方確認本作將於2027年登陸PlayStation 5、Xbox Series X|S與PC，具體發售日尚未公布；老一代主機（PS4/Xbox One/Switch）不在支持之列。更多劇情、新區域與角色細節預計將在8月25日科隆遊戲展開幕式及後續展示中陸續公開。
