《惡靈古堡8》發售至今已經過去4年，不少粉絲一直期待續作的到來。近日，知名舅舅黨Dusk Golem透露了關於《惡靈古堡9》的新消息，他表示，《惡靈古堡9》幾乎100%在今年公布，並計劃於明年發售，不太可能再延期了。

當有玩家詢問，卡普空是否會擔心《惡靈古堡9》與《GTA6》撞車時，Dusk Golem回應稱，他認為卡普空不太願意與《GTA6》這樣的巨無霸正面競爭。儘管《惡靈古堡》是大作，但與《GTA》相比，影響力仍有所差距。為了避免與《GTA6》撞檔，卡普空可能選擇在本財年結束前發布《惡靈古堡9》，或者推遲至2026年底。
